Necrotizing Enterocolities (NEC) is a severe disorder that causes intestinal damage. LPS, Hypoxia, and hyperosmolar solution is used to simulate this disorder in tissue research. NEC occurs due to an imbalance in proliferation vs differentiation regulated by Wnt signalling. The administration of exogenous Wnt7b is sufficient to rescue the pathological phenotype.
